We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Biologist to support laboratory, field and data-driven projects across a range of biological research and development activities. This role would suit a scientifically curious professional who is keen to build practical experience, contribute to high-quality outputs and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will be involved in planning and carrying out experiments, collecting and analysing biological data, and communicating findings clearly to colleagues and project stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include preparing samples, reagents and equipment; performing routine and specialist laboratory techniques in accordance with approved protocols; recording, organising and interpreting experimental results; and maintaining accurate, traceable documentation. You may also assist with fieldwork, environmental or biological surveys, sample processing, quality control and the preparation of technical reports, presentations and scientific summaries. The role will require you to identify issues, troubleshoot methods, suggest practical improvements and contribute to the safe, efficient operation of laboratory and project activities. You will be expected to follow relevant health and safety, quality assurance, ethical and regulatory requirements at all times.
Applicants should hold a degree in biology, biological sciences, molecular biology, ecology, microbiology or a related discipline, together with relevant laboratory, fieldwork or research experience. We are looking for someone with sound knowledge of biological principles, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines. Experience with techniques such as microscopy, cell or microbial culture, molecular biology, biochemical analysis, environmental sampling or statistical data analysis would be advantageous, depending on project requirements. Familiarity with scientific software, spreadsheets and data-management tools is desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proactive approach, a willingness to learn and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
