We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to contribute to the design, assessment and delivery of a varied range of building and infrastructure projects. This role will suit a technically capable professional who can work confidently across project stages, from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and completion. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, clients and other stakeholders to develop practical, safe and cost-effective structural solutions.

Your responsibilities will include preparing structural calculations, specifications, reports, drawings and other technical documentation in accordance with relevant codes, standards and regulations. You will undertake structural analysis and design using appropriate software and engineering principles, review existing structures, identify risks and recommend effective remedial or strengthening solutions. You will also support site inspections, respond to technical queries, review contractor submissions and provide guidance during construction. The role may include managing defined work packages, monitoring programme and budget requirements, and contributing to quality assurance, technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Applicants should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have relevant professional experience in a consultancy, contractor or similar technical environment. Professional registration or progress towards chartership is desirable. You will need sound knowledge of structural design principles, materials and construction methods, together with experience using industry-standard analysis and design tools and computer-aided design software. Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. A collaborative approach, attention to detail and commitment to health, safety, quality and sustainable design are also important.
