We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure to lead the technical delivery of complex projects from concept through to completion. This role will suit an experienced civil, environmental, or process engineer with a strong background in water treatment, wastewater systems, pipelines, pumping stations, or related infrastructure. You will provide technical leadership across multiple projects, ensuring designs are practical, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with client and community needs.
Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing engineering designs, specifications, calculations, technical reports, and project documentation. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, manage technical interfaces, support procurement and construction activities, and provide engineering guidance throughout project delivery. The role will also involve assessing risks, resolving technical issues, reviewing contractor submissions, monitoring quality, and contributing to project schedules, budgets, and change management. You will engage with clients, regulators, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders, clearly communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental, water, wastewater, or process engineering, together with substantial experience delivering relevant infrastructure projects. Professional registration or eligibility for registration is highly desirable. You will have sound knowledge of applicable standards, environmental requirements, health and safety obligations, and contemporary water and wastewater treatment practices. Strong project coordination, problem-solving, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute effectively within a collaborative team. Experience with design and project management software, construction support, and contract administration will be advantageous. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects that improve essential services and deliver lasting benefits for communities and the environment.
