EWI is recruiting for an experienced Grid Integration & Studies Engineer to join a leading global wind energy manufacturer supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the integration of wind power plants into the electrical grid, supporting projects from the initial interconnection application through commissioning. Working within a highly experienced engineering team, you will contribute to grid studies, dynamic modelling, compliance and power system analysis that help deliver the next generation of renewable energy projects.

The Role

As a Grid Integration & Studies Engineer, you will support utility-scale wind farm projects throughout the interconnection process, ensuring compliance with North American grid codes and reliability standards.

Working alongside engineering, project development, transmission operators and customers, you will perform detailed power system studies, coordinate technical submissions and provide expert guidance throughout project execution.

Key responsibilities include:

Support wind farm interconnection projects from application through commissioning
Perform power system studies and dynamic modelling for utility-scale wind projects
Assess grid code compliance and provide technical guidance throughout project development
Conduct simulations using industry-standard power system analysis software
Review and interpret ISO, utility and transmission operator requirements
Coordinate technical documentation required for interconnection applications
Support commissioning activities, plant testing and compliance reporting
Work closely with project owners, transmission operators and engineering teams
Review dynamic models and support model validation and tuning
Track evolving grid codes and NERC reliability standards across North America
Provide technical support during project planning, development and execution
Prepare technical reports and present engineering findings to internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver best practice solutions

SaskPower
NSPI
Microsoft Office
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited preferred)
Masters or PhD in Power Systems or Power Electronics is advantageous
5+ years of experience within power systems, transmission planning or renewable energy
Experience supporting utility-scale wind or power generation projects
Strong understanding of transmission networks and grid interconnection processes
Experience using dynamic modelling software for power system analysis
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and technical report writing abilities
Ability to travel approximately 20% across North America and internationally when required
Valid drivers licence and ability to obtain a passport

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $130,000 - $140,000 USD plus annual performance bonus.
