We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee all health and safety operations for a utility-scale solar construction company in California.
Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans in compliance with Cal/OSHA and company standards.
Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, safety inspections, and toolbox talks.
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate records of safety metrics, incident logs, training completion, and compliance documentation.
Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Act as the on-site liaison for all safety matters
Deliver HSE orientation and ongoing safety training for all site workers and visitors.
Promote a safety-first culture through behavioral safety programs and incentive systems.
Monitor high-risk activities such as electrical work, heavy equipment operations, trenching, and lifting operations.
Ensure proper use and availability of PPE, fall protection, fire safety, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of safety management experience on large-scale construction projects, preferably utility-scale solar or renewable energy.
In-depth knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA 1926, NFPA 70E, and environmental regulations.
Valid OSHA 30 Certification required; CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications preferred.
First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
