We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer/Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of construction and infrastructure projects in the field. This role will coordinate day-to-day site activities, support project planning and provide technical guidance to supervisors, subcontractors and field crews. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, resolving issues promptly and maintaining strong communication between site personnel, project management, engineering teams and clients.
Key responsibilities will include interpreting drawings, specifications and contracts; monitoring construction progress, productivity, costs and schedule performance; coordinating subcontractors, materials, equipment and site logistics; and ensuring work is completed in accordance with approved plans and quality standards. You will conduct regular site inspections, identify design or constructability concerns, assist with estimating and change management, and maintain accurate daily reports, records and documentation. The role will also involve supporting commissioning, testing, punch-list completion and handover activities, while ensuring environmental, health and safety requirements are consistently followed. You may be required to lead toolbox talks, participate in project meetings and provide clear progress updates to senior stakeholders.
Applicants should have substantial experience in field engineering, construction supervision or a similar role, ideally on complex civil, industrial, commercial or infrastructure projects. A relevant degree, diploma or recognised trade qualification is preferred, along with strong knowledge of construction methods, surveying principles, quality control and applicable regulations. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, use project management or reporting software, and communicate effectively with diverse teams is essential. Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills are required, together with a practical, safety-focused approach and the flexibility to work outdoors, travel to project locations and adjust to changing site priorities. Relevant professional certifications, first aid training or site safety credentials will be advantageous.
