We are seeking an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of projects involving stormwater management, flood risk assessment, drainage infrastructure, water quality, and related civil engineering services. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop technical expertise while working alongside experienced engineers, planners, environmental specialists, and project managers on a variety of public and private sector projects.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, preparing drainage and stormwater management plans, supporting floodplain and watershed studies, and contributing to the design of culverts, channels, detention facilities, treatment systems, and other water-related infrastructure. You will collect and analyse field and technical data, review drawings and specifications, prepare calculations, reports, figures, and permit documentation, and assist with site inspections and construction support. The role may also involve coordinating with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to help deliver practical, compliant, and sustainable solutions.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a closely related discipline. Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater principles, drainage design, and relevant technical standards is desirable. Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS platforms, or hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tools will be advantageous, though training will be provided for the right candidate. Strong analytical, written, verbal, and organisational skills are essential, along with attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Candidates should be able to manage competing priorities, work effectively both independently and within a team, and occasionally travel to project sites. Professional registration or progress toward relevant professional accreditation is welcomed but not required.
