We are seeking an experienced E&M Interfaces Lead Engineer to coordinate the technical integration of electrical and mechanical systems across a complex engineering or infrastructure programme. The successful candidate will act as the key interface between design disciplines, delivery teams, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring that systems are compatible, coordinated, and delivered in line with technical, safety, quality, and programme requirements.
Responsibilities will include developing and maintaining the E&M interface management strategy, identifying and controlling technical interfaces, and ensuring that responsibilities, requirements, assumptions, and dependencies are clearly documented. You will lead interface workshops, review design information, manage interface registers, track actions and risks, and support the timely resolution of technical issues. The role will involve close collaboration with engineering, construction, testing and commissioning teams, as well as reviewing contractor and supplier submissions to confirm compliance with approved requirements. You will also contribute to design reviews, change control, technical assurance, system integration activities, and readiness assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical, mechanical, building services, systems engineering, or a related discipline, together with significant experience in E&M coordination, interface management, systems integration, or a comparable engineering environment. Experience delivering complex projects involving multiple contractors and technical disciplines is essential. You should be confident interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation, with a sound understanding of engineering assurance, configuration control, risk management, and health and safety requirements. Strong communication, stakeholder management, organisation, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to influence others and make well-informed decisions in a demanding project environment.
