We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of major metro rail infrastructure projects. This role will support the development of safe, reliable and efficient electrical systems across new and existing rail networks, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering, construction and project teams. You will be involved in projects from concept and preliminary design through to detailed design, construction support, testing and commissioning.
Key responsibilities will include preparing electrical designs, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports for metro rail systems and associated infrastructure. You will review design deliverables, coordinate interfaces with civil, systems, signalling, communications and rolling stock disciplines, and assist with the resolution of technical issues during design and construction. The role will also involve undertaking site inspections, supporting testing and commissioning activities, contributing to design reviews and risk assessments, and ensuring that work complies with relevant engineering standards, safety requirements and project specifications. You may also be required to provide technical input to project schedules, cost estimates, procurement documentation and stakeholder presentations.
The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering and have relevant experience in rail, transport infrastructure, power systems, building services or a related engineering environment. Experience with metro rail electrical systems, traction power, electrical distribution, low-voltage systems, earthing, bonding, lighting or cable design would be advantageous. You should be confident interpreting technical standards and drawings, using engineering design and documentation software, and communicating clearly with clients, contractors and project stakeholders. Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential, together with a commitment to quality, safety and collaborative delivery. Professional registration or progress towards professional accreditation will be viewed favourably.

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for complex metro rail and urban transport projects. This role will provide technical leadership across all project stages, from concept development and feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction support, testing, commissioning and handover. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, contractors, suppliers and client representatives to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions that meet operational, regulatory and performance requirements.
Key responsibilities will include developing and reviewing electrical design documentation, calculations, specifications, reports, drawings and technical schedules; coordinating power supply, traction power, distribution, earthing, bonding, lighting, station services and associated rail systems interfaces; and ensuring designs comply with applicable standards, rail safety requirements and project specifications. You will lead design reviews, provide technical advice, assess risks, resolve complex engineering issues and support construction teams with responses to technical queries and requests for information. The role will also involve monitoring design quality, programme and deliverables, mentoring less experienced engineers, and contributing to client presentations, tender submissions and technical proposals.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering and have substantial experience in electrical design for metro rail, railway, major infrastructure or similarly complex transport projects. Professional registration or chartered status will be highly regarded. You will need strong knowledge of rail electrical systems, design assurance processes, interface management and relevant industry standards, together with experience using engineering design and document management tools. Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to lead technical workstreams, manage competing priorities and make sound engineering decisions in a project environment. A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality and sustainable design are expected.
