We are seeking a Director, Renewable Project Engineering to lead the technical delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects from early development through construction and commissioning. This senior leadership role will establish engineering strategies, oversee multidisciplinary design activities, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and commercial requirements. The portfolio may include utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, and associated grid infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include managing internal engineering teams and external consultants; defining project technical scopes, budgets, schedules, and resourcing plans; and providing engineering leadership across feasibility studies, permitting, procurement, contracting, detailed design, construction, testing, and handover. You will review and approve technical documentation, design packages, calculations, specifications, and contractor submissions, while identifying and managing technical risks throughout the project lifecycle. The role will also support technology selection, grid connection activities, value engineering, due diligence, tender evaluations, and the resolution of complex technical and construction issues. Strong collaboration with development, commercial, legal, finance, operations, and project delivery teams will be essential.

The successful candidate will bring a degree in engineering or a related discipline, extensive experience delivering renewable energy or major infrastructure projects, and a strong understanding of electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, and grid integration requirements. Experience leading engineering functions across multiple projects, managing consultants and contractors, and working within changing regulatory and market environments is highly desirable. Professional registration or equivalent credentials will be advantageous. You will be an accomplished people leader with excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, capable of making sound decisions under pressure and translating complex technical matters into clear business recommendations. We are seeking a Project Director – Engineering & Construction (Renewable Energy) to lead the successful delivery of major renewable energy projects from development and detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover. Key responsibilities will include establishing project execution plans, budgets, schedules, risk registers and performance measures; coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations interfaces; and managing contractors, consultants, suppliers and project partners. You will lead design reviews, constructability assessments, value engineering and change control, while maintaining strong oversight of contracts, claims, cost forecasting and progress reporting. The role will also involve securing relevant permits and approvals, supporting land and grid connection activities, monitoring health, safety and environmental performance, and ensuring that quality assurance and quality control standards are consistently applied. Effective communication with regulators, local communities, technical advisers, investors and other stakeholders will be essential.

Applicants should have substantial experience directing large-scale renewable energy or major infrastructure projects, ideally across technologies such as solar, wind, battery storage or associated transmission and grid infrastructure. A degree in engineering, construction management or a related discipline is expected, together with a strong understanding of project controls, construction methodologies, contract administration and applicable industry standards. Demonstrable success managing multidisciplinary teams and high-value contractor packages is essential. Commercial awareness, sound judgement, strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve complex issues decisively are required. Professional registration or recognised project management certification would be advantageous.
