The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager - Embankments & Foundations to join one of Scandinavia's most significant rail infrastructure programmes.

Working as part of a major rail development project in the Stockholm region, you will play a critical role during the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, leading and coordinating the development of embankment and foundation solutions for complex rail infrastructure works. The wider project includes the delivery of new railway infrastructure, major bridges, tunnels and transport facilities as part of a long-term strategic transportation investment.

This position offers the opportunity to help shape design strategy from an early stage whilst supporting future construction delivery as the project progresses into execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate the design development of embankments, foundations and associated geotechnical works.Manage interfaces between designers, consultants, construction teams and client representatives.Provide technical leadership on:Embankment designFoundation designPiling design and piling methodologiesGround improvement solutionsTemporary works relating to excavation and earth retention systemsReview and challenge design proposals to ensure buildability, safety, programme compliance and cost efficiency.Support construction planning activities during the ECI phase.Manage specialist consultants and ensure quality and timely delivery of design outputs.Identify and mitigate geotechnical and construction risks.Participate in technical workshops, value engineering studies and design reviews.Work closely with the client and key stakeholders, including project teams based within Trafikverket offices.Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with experienced Design Managers, Lead Geotechnical Engineers or Foundations Specialists who have successfully delivered large civil engineering and transport infrastructure projects.
