Contract Vacancy: DCS/SCADA Engineer - Onshore Substation (6-12 Months)
Location: Poland (with site travel as required)
Contract Duration: 6-12 months
Start Date: ASAP

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced DCS/SCADA Engineer to support the delivery, configuration, and commissioning of control and automation systems for a high-voltage onshore substation project in Poland. This role is ideal for a contractor with a strong background in substation automation, control system integration, and commissioning support on complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and implement DCS/SCADA systems for substation control and monitoring.

Integrate protection and control IEDs using IEC 61850 and other standard protocols (MODBUS, DNP3, etc.).

Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.

Coordinate with multidiscipline engineering teams, including protection, telecoms, and civil.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during integration and commissioning.

Produce and review control logic, HMI designs, network diagrams, and testing documentation.

Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, quality, and system reliability standards.

Requirements:

Demonstrable experience in DCS/SCADA engineering within high-voltage substations or transmission networks.

Strong understanding of SCADA platforms and HMI development (e.g., iFIX, Cimplicity, or equivalent).

Proficient in IEC 61850 engineering, including SCL configuration and IED integration.

Experience in site-based commissioning and testing activities.

Familiar with industry standards and engineering best practices for substation automation.

Ability to work independently and collaborate with international project teams.

Desirable Qualifications:

Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Control, or Automation Engineering.

Previous experience on large-scale utility or grid infrastructure projects.

Right to work in the EU and ability to be based in Poland for the duration of the contract.

Fluent in English; Polish language skills are a plus.

We are looking for a Senior SCADA/DCS Engineer to join high-profile grid infrastructure projects across Europe. The role begins in Spain and moves to Poland, supporting the integration and commissioning of substation automation systems for a major OEM's Grid Solutions team.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and configuration of SCADA/DCS systems on HV substationsIntegration of RTUs, IEDs, HMIs using protocols like IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3FAT/SAT execution and full system validationSystem troubleshooting and technical support to site teamsEnsuring cyber-secure communication architecture

Requirements:

7+ years' SCADA/DCS engineering experience on grid-related projectsProven track record working with GE or GE-related OEM SCADA/DCS platformsStrong knowledge of communication protocols and automation systemsFluent in English and willing to work internationally on-site
