This role will oversee the delivery of high-quality assessments, surveys, impact evaluations, management plans, and regulatory documentation for projects in sectors such as infrastructure, energy, transportation, land development, and environmental planning. The successful candidate will combine strong subject-matter expertise with sound commercial awareness, helping to shape project strategies from early planning through to approvals and implementation.

Key responsibilities will include managing and reviewing cultural resources investigations; directing archaeological and heritage field programs; interpreting applicable legislation, standards, and permitting requirements; and preparing or overseeing technical reports, heritage assessments, and mitigation recommendations. You will provide guidance on project scope, methodology, budgets, schedules, and risk, while coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, landowners, and other stakeholders. The role will also involve mentoring staff, promoting consistent technical standards, supporting quality assurance processes, contributing to proposals and business development, and identifying opportunities to strengthen cultural resources services.

Applicants should hold a degree in archaeology, anthropology, heritage conservation, or a related discipline, along with substantial professional experience in cultural resources management or archaeological consulting. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant heritage legislation, regulatory processes, field methods, and reporting standards is essential. Professional certification, eligibility for registration, or membership in a recognised heritage or archaeological organisation will be advantageous. Strong project management, writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are required, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver practical, defensible advice. Experience leading teams and working on complex, regulated projects will be highly valued.
