We are seeking a Civil Project Engineer specialising in Water Resources to support the delivery of complex infrastructure and environmental projects. This role will suit a technically capable engineer who can combine sound civil engineering knowledge with practical project coordination skills. You will contribute to the planning, design, construction and maintenance of water-related assets, including drainage systems, flood mitigation schemes, stormwater infrastructure, waterways and water-sensitive urban design projects.

Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering designs, calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications; coordinating investigations, surveys and site assessments; and supporting project planning, cost estimation, procurement and construction activities. You will liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues, monitor progress and ensure projects meet approved scope, budget, programme and quality requirements. The position will also involve undertaking site inspections, assessing construction compliance, managing design changes and contributing to risk assessments, approvals and environmental considerations. You may be required to provide technical guidance to junior engineers and assist with developing improved processes and engineering solutions.

Applicants should hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with relevant professional experience in water resources, drainage, flood modelling, civil infrastructure or a comparable field. Experience with engineering design and modelling software, such as Civil 3D, 12D, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW or equivalent platforms, will be highly regarded. Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, safety obligations and environmental requirements is essential. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, sound analytical ability and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will be organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple priorities, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to multidisciplinary project teams. Professional registration or progress towards registration will be advantageous.

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager (PE) specialising in water resources and stormwater to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects. This role will manage projects from initial feasibility and scope development through design, permitting, construction support, and closeout. The successful candidate will apply sound engineering judgement to develop practical, resilient, and cost-effective solutions for stormwater management, drainage, flood mitigation, water quality, and related civil works.

Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage studies, stormwater management plans, floodplain assessments, and civil design packages. You will oversee the preparation of technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, schedules, and permit applications, while ensuring that deliverables meet applicable regulations, standards, and client requirements. The role will also involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing project budgets and timelines, assigning work to internal staff and consultants, reviewing technical outputs, and supporting procurement and construction administration. Regular communication with clients, contractors, regulators, municipalities, and other stakeholders will be essential.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline and possess an active Professional Engineer (PE) licence, preferably with eligibility to obtain licensure in additional jurisdictions. Demonstrated experience managing water resources, stormwater, drainage, or flood control projects is required, along with strong knowledge of relevant design standards, permitting processes, and engineering software such as Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, or comparable tools. Candidates should be confident leading teams, mentoring engineers and technical staff, managing competing priorities, and presenting technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong written communication, problem-solving, organisation, and client relationship skills are essential.
