We are seeking a CEQA Environmental Services Analyst to support the preparation, review, and delivery of environmental documentation for a range of public and private development projects. Working with project managers, technical specialists, agencies, and clients, you will help assess potential environmental impacts and ensure projects comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and related federal, state, and local regulations.
Key responsibilities will include conducting environmental research and regulatory reviews; collecting, organising, and analysing technical data; contributing to Initial Studies, Negative Declarations, Mitigated Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, and related CEQA documents; and assisting with technical studies covering areas such as biological resources, cultural resources, traffic, air quality, noise, and hazardous materials. You will help identify mitigation measures, prepare supporting tables and written materials, track project schedules, respond to comments, and coordinate with consultants, agencies, and other stakeholders. The role may also involve attending meetings, supporting public review processes, conducting site visits, and assisting with permitting and environmental compliance monitoring.
The successful candidate will have a degree in environmental science, planning, natural resources, public policy, or a related discipline, together with experience in CEQA analysis, environmental consulting, planning, or a comparable field. Knowledge of CEQA guidelines, environmental review procedures, and California regulatory requirements is essential. Strong research, technical writing, editing, and project organisation skills are required, along with the ability to interpret complex information and communicate it clearly to varied audiences. Familiarity with GIS, environmental databases, and standard office software is desirable. You should be able to manage competing priorities, work independently and collaboratively, meet deadlines, and maintain a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
