We are seeking a Biologist – Remote Desktop Analyst Coordinator to provide field-based scientific, technical and coordination support across biological monitoring and digital operations. The role will combine practical knowledge of biology and environmental data collection with the ability to coordinate remote desktop services, troubleshoot user issues and maintain effective communication between field teams and technical support functions. This is an opportunity for a methodical, adaptable professional who is comfortable working independently across varied locations and environments.

Responsibilities will include coordinating remote desktop access and support for field-based users; logging, prioritising and tracking technical incidents through to resolution; assisting with the setup, configuration and use of laptops, tablets, mobile devices, software and secure applications; and providing clear guidance to users with varying levels of technical experience. You will also support biological surveys, sampling programmes, monitoring activities and the accurate recording, validation and management of field data. The role will involve identifying recurring technical or operational issues, escalating complex problems appropriately, contributing to system and process improvements, and preparing concise progress reports and documentation. Regular liaison with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders will be required.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent experience in biology, ecology, environmental science or a related discipline, together with practical experience in field-based biological work, data collection or environmental monitoring. A sound understanding of desktop support, remote access tools, Microsoft Windows, common business applications and basic networking or device troubleshooting is desirable. Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills are essential, along with a customer-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities. You must be willing to travel regularly, work in outdoor and occasionally challenging conditions, and hold a valid driving licence where required. Experience with databases, GIS, service-management systems, data quality procedures or laboratory and field technology would be advantageous.
