We are seeking an experienced Automation and VTS Integration Supervisor to oversee the coordination, installation, testing, and commissioning of automation and intelligent transport systems on a major infrastructure project in the Bergen region. The successful candidate will act as the key interface between engineering, construction, suppliers, subcontractors, and the client, ensuring that all systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, and project requirements.
Your responsibilities will include supervising the integration of automation, control, monitoring, communication, and VTS-related equipment across the project. You will review technical documentation, support interface management, coordinate installation activities, and monitor progress against programme milestones. The role will involve planning and witnessing inspections, factory and site acceptance testing, system integration tests, commissioning activities, and final handover. You will also identify technical issues, manage follow-up actions, verify corrective measures, and ensure that testing records, quality documentation, operating procedures, and as-built information are complete and properly maintained.
Applicants should have relevant technical qualifications or extensive practical experience in automation, electrical systems, industrial control, intelligent transport systems, or a related discipline. Previous experience supervising system integration, testing, and commissioning on complex construction, transportation, tunnel, or infrastructure projects is highly desirable. Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, networked control systems, traffic management technology, and multidisciplinary interfaces will be an advantage. You should be confident interpreting drawings, specifications, test procedures, and risk assessments, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication and coordination skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently, lead technical teams, and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is beneficial.
