We are seeking an experienced Associate Archaeologist | Field Director to lead fieldwork activities in Southern California. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing archaeological field investigations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will coordinate survey and excavation efforts, manage site documentation, and provide guidance to field crews. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying significant archaeological sites and artifacts, as well as preparing detailed reports and presentations of findings for clients and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in Archaeology or a related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant field experience. Strong knowledge of California archaeology, cultural resource management, and environmental regulations is essential. You should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Proficiency in data management software and mapping tools is also required. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various field sites are necessary for this role.
