We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent – Industrial to support the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of industrial construction and maintenance projects. Working closely with the Superintendent and project leadership team, you will help coordinate daily site operations, supervise field activities, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and applicable regulations. This role requires a visible, hands-on leader who can communicate effectively with crews, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include assisting with planning and sequencing construction activities; coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities; monitoring progress against the project schedule; and identifying and resolving site issues before they affect productivity or milestones. You will conduct site walks, participate in toolbox talks and coordination meetings, maintain accurate daily reports, and support the implementation of quality control and safety programs. The successful candidate will help enforce safe work practices, investigate hazards or incidents, and promote a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. You may also be required to review drawings and specifications, track deficiencies, support inspections, and contribute to project closeout activities.

Applicants should have several years of experience in industrial construction, heavy civil work, plant maintenance, or a related field, with demonstrated experience supervising crews or coordinating subcontractors. Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, site logistics, health and safety requirements, and quality assurance processes is essential. The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documentation is required, along with strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills. A relevant trade qualification, technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Experience working in active industrial environments and familiarity with construction management software will be considered an asset. The role may involve working outdoors, varying shifts, and extended hours to meet project requirements.
