We are seeking an As-Needed Lab Biologist to provide flexible scientific support across laboratory operations, research activities, and routine testing. This role is well suited to a dependable professional who can adapt to changing workloads and contribute effectively on an intermittent or project-based schedule. Responsibilities may include receiving, labeling, preparing, and processing biological samples; performing laboratory procedures in accordance with approved methods; operating and maintaining standard laboratory equipment; recording observations and results accurately; and assisting with data review and documentation.

The successful candidate will follow established safety, quality, and biosafety procedures at all times, maintain clean and organized work areas, and promptly report equipment issues, deviations, or unusual findings. Additional duties may include preparing reagents and solutions, supporting inventory control, assisting with quality-control checks, compiling technical records, and contributing to the improvement of laboratory processes. The role may involve working with biological materials and completing tasks independently while also collaborating with scientists, technicians, and other operational staff.

Candidates should have a degree or relevant academic background in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline, together with practical laboratory experience. Experience with sample handling, aseptic technique, documentation, and common laboratory instruments is desirable. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to follow written protocols are essential. Applicants must be comfortable working variable hours as needed, managing competing priorities, and maintaining confidentiality. Training will be provided where appropriate, but a commitment to safe working practices, reliable attendance, and accurate scientific work is required.
