We are seeking an experienced Air Traffic Control Tower Construction Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of complex aviation infrastructure projects. This role will oversee the construction, refurbishment, and commissioning of air traffic control towers and associated facilities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all applicable aviation, construction, and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will manage projects from concept and design coordination through procurement, construction, testing, handover, and close-out. Responsibilities will include developing project plans, budgets, programmes, risk registers, and progress reports; coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, specialist suppliers, and operational stakeholders; managing contracts, variations, and commercial performance; and ensuring effective quality, health and safety, environmental, and security controls. You will oversee works involving tower structures, control rooms, communications systems, navigation and surveillance equipment, power supplies, backup systems, fire protection, access arrangements, and integration with operational airport environments. A key part of the role will be maintaining continuity of air traffic operations and managing construction activities around highly controlled and safety-critical areas.
Applicants should have substantial experience managing major construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within aviation, airports, air traffic control, defence, or another regulated operational environment. A degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, civil engineering, project management, or a related discipline is preferred, together with a recognised project management or construction qualification. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, risk management, commissioning processes, and regulatory compliance is essential. You will need excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, as well as the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Experience with live-site delivery, multidisciplinary teams, contractor performance, and technical systems integration will be highly valued. The role may require site travel, security clearance, and flexible working to support critical project milestones.
