EWI is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of a major hydropower project in Australia. This is a key leadership role focused on the erection of penstocks and steel linings, offering the opportunity to contribute to the successful execution of a complex and technically demanding infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead site activities related to the erection of penstock and steel lining.

• Manage construction shifts and daily execution in line with safety, quality, and schedule objectives.

• Coordinate subcontractor performance and supervise discipline-specific teams.

• Prepare daily progress reports and communicate updates to the site leadership team.

• Ensure availability and readiness of equipment, tools, and materials on site.

• Conduct daily briefings and enforce site safety standards.

• Organise and lead weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and client representatives.

• Monitor schedule adherence and support the implementation of recovery plans as needed.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Engineering or a related technical field.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction management roles within hydropower projects.

• Strong understanding of welding, heavy lifting, and structural steel installation.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage inspection processes.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and prioritise tasks effectively.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex site operations with minimal supervision. Experience in managing teams in remote or international environments will be an advantage.
