Senior Rail Safety Director (ISA) - Canada
EWI are supporting a leading European Consultancy firm in their search for an experienced Senior Safety Director for a large-scale rail project in Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a complex, high-impact project and lead safety and system assurance efforts in the railway industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of safety and system assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Oversee safety engineering, safety risk management, and the delivery of safety consulting services to railway or subway organisations.
Develop and manage major assurance framework programs and strategic safety initiatives for construction consortiums or joint ventures.
Present complex safety findings and strategies to clients, effectively communicating technical ideas and solutions.
Key Qualifications:
A minimum of 20 years in senior leadership roles, ideally within the railway or related industries.
At least 5 years of professional experience as an Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) or a similar recognised technical safety role (e.g., NOBO, DEBO, ASBO, Validator) on large, complex projects.
A minimum of 5 years in a technical safety role on capital project assurance within the railway industry, specifically delivering a CMREA (or equivalent such as CSM-RA) compliant process.
At least 5 years of experience developing and implementing safety and system assurance programs on large-scale projects, providing safety consulting services to railway authorities or asset owners/operators.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven experience in presenting findings to clients.
