Senior Asset Manager - Solar PV - South Africa
Are you a seasoned executive with extensive experience in South Africa's infrastructure asset management environment? Join a leading renewable energy company with a portfolio exceeding 1GW in operation and over 500MW under construction.
Position: Senior Asset Manager
Location: Cape Town, with regular travel to site facilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a high-performing operational team overseeing a portfolio of Solar PV projects in South Africa.
- Maximize stakeholder value by driving technical, financial, and commercial optimization initiatives.
- Manage stakeholder relations with the Department of Energy, lenders, shareholders, and local government.
- Oversee risk management frameworks and ensure compliance with project agreements.
- Collaborate on business planning, including annual operating plans and long-term budgets.
- Report to the boards of infrastructure asset companies and manage lender relationships.
Key Requirements:
- Proven track record of leading high-performance teams in a South African infrastructure asset management environment.
- Advanced knowledge in project finance and relevant qualifications (Legal, Engineering, or Finance degree; MBA preferred).
- Strong commercial acumen with 5-10 years of experience in asset management.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with experience managing senior-level stakeholder relationships.
- Familiarity with REIPPPP industry stakeholders (DOE, NERSA, Eskom, etc.).
- Experience with social investment programs, including Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development obligations.
- Ability to deliver under pressure while maintaining high standards of operational performance.
