Electrical Quality Manager - Utility-Scale Solar

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Quality Manager to oversee all electrical quality assurance and control activities on a utility-scale solar PV project based in Morocco. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical installations and related systems comply with contractual specifications, local and international standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Electrical Quality Management Plan and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all electrical works.
  • Supervise and coordinate electrical quality inspections and testing, including MV/HV installations, switchgear, transformers, inverters, cable routing, and earthing systems.
  • Ensure strict compliance with IEC, IEEE, Moroccan electrical codes, and project-specific technical standards.
  • Monitor and verify contractor and subcontractor work to ensure it meets project quality objectives.
  • Manage and maintain QA/QC documentation, including test records, quality reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the Owner's Engineer, EPC Contractor, and Independent Engineer to ensure alignment on quality standards.
  • Conduct audits of the quality management system and propose continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical input during commissioning, energization, and final acceptance phases.
  • Train site personnel on electrical quality standards, safe practices, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in electrical quality control/quality management on utility-scale solar PV projects (50MW+), including exposure to high-voltage (HV) systems.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical QA/QC procedures, industry standards (IEC, IEEE), and Moroccan regulations.
  • Proven experience managing QA/QC teams and working with EPC contractors on large infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and quality documentation systems.
  • Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
  • Fluent in French; English and/or Arabic is an advantage.
  • Willingness to be site-based in Morocco for the duration of the project.

Preferred:

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification or similar QA credentials.
  • Experience working in North Africa or MENA on renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, protection systems, and grid compliance testing.
