Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated SCADA Engineer to support substation automation and grid integration projects across Europe. The role involves the design, configuration, and commissioning of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, with a focus on Grid Automation technologies. While most assignments will be onshore, occasional offshore work may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and configure SCADA systems for onshore and offshore substations, aligned with project and operational requirements.
- Interface with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders to ensure robust system integration.
- Implement and manage communication protocols such as IEC 61850 (including GOOSE and MMS), Modbus, DNP3, and OPC.
- Perform SCADA system testing, validation, and troubleshooting of both hardware and software components.
- Support commissioning activities at project sites, including SCADA configuration and functional testing.
- Collaborate with Protection & Control and Grid Automation teams to ensure seamless interoperability of systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, system reports, and user training materials.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and safety regulations throughout all phases of the project.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in SCADA engineering, particularly in substation automation, power transmission, or renewable energy sectors.
- Solid understanding of SCADA architectures, RTUs, HMIs, and industrial communication protocols.
- Proficiency with IEC 61850-based system configuration and integration.
- Experience with industry-standard SCADA platforms (e.g., Grid Automation tools, Siemens WinCC, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of substation protection and control systems.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in technical environments.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a multidisciplinary, international team.
- Willingness to travel within Europe for site-related activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in offshore wind or high-voltage substation projects.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity measures for industrial control systems.
- Background in electrical engineering and grid integration concepts.
