The leading infrastructure recruitment specialist are looking for a Senior Technical Quantity Surveyor, to join a global leader in construction sector for one of Norway's technical infrastructure projects involving roads, tunnels, bridges, drill and blast works.

Job Role / Responsibilities

  • Managing mass balance calculations and technical reporting.
  • Analyze earthworks contracts and generate a strategy to control and monitor construction progress.
  • Leading coordination between survey, construction and contractual team.
  • Control and coordination with subcontractors' activities and reporting.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all project-related base data, mass balance and progress.
  • Provide expert advice on Norwegian standard, process code interpretation and technical calculation.
  • Preparing BOQ (bill of quantities) by survey data and design models.
  • Identifying gaps between BOQ and design, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure.
  • Coordination with the survey team for base data and survey data interpretation.
  • Coordination with construction to identify progress, phases and construction strategies.
  • Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations.
  • Preparing interim and final valuations, variations and claims of the construction site.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises

Project

The infrastructure project is based on the West Coast of Norway and consist of the construction of several tunnels, bridges and highways, the construction has just started and is estimated to last for at least 3 years.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, construction management or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Sound knowledge of Norwegian construction industry practices, regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques.
  • Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Gemini software for quantity surveying and reporting.
  • Understanding contractual requirements and quantities take off procedure.
