About the Company:
Our client is a leading international contractor with a strong portfolio of large-scale infrastructure projects worldwide. They are currently delivering a prestigious metro rail project in the Philippines and are seeking a highly experienced Design Manager to join their team.
Job Summary:
As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing all design-related activities for the metro rail project. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, oversee design consultants, and ensure that all designs comply with technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
The Design Manager would need to manage, on behalf of the General Contractor, the international design consultants who are going to carry out the Civils design of the underground and above-ground stations, tunnel ventilation, passenger flow analysis, MEP, and Architectural scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design process for the metro rail project, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams, design consultants, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of all design elements.
- Review and approve design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards.
- Monitor progress and resolve design-related issues in collaboration with engineers, architects, and project managers.
- Liaise with government agencies, clients, and third-party consultants to facilitate approvals and permits.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the design phase.
- Provide technical expertise and strategic input to optimize design solutions and project execution.
- Prepare and present design progress reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design management, with a focus on large-scale rail or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of metro rail systems, tunneling, and station design.
- Experience working with international contractors, consultants, and government entities.
- Proficiency in design software and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project challenges.
