Site Project Manager (Field Servioces) - Hydropower - Angola
(Hydroelectric turbine and generator installation)
My client is urgently seeking a Site Project Manager (Field Servioces) for the installation and commissioning of the electrical & mechanical equipment for a hydropower plant in Angola, starting in April.
Client Profile:
Global supplier for hydroelectric turbine and generator installation and refurbishment projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee overall site management and coordination, including installations, technical supervision, testing, and commissioning.
- Ensure all site activities adhere to the planned schedule and budget.
- Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager/Head of Field Operation.
- Be fully aware of contract requirements and project milestones.
- Lead the closure of the Punch List as long as the site is operational.
- Maintain close contact and open communication with the Customer, Customer's Representative, Subcontractors, Local Authorities, and other contractors (Civil Work, Hydraulic Mechanism, Penstock, etc.).
- Manage site HSE, security, planning, quality, procurement, material storage, warehouse management, documentation, and administration.
- Ensure high performance from site personnel and maintain a strong relationship with the client.
- Responsible for site cost forecasting, controlling operational expenses, and handling local procurement when required.
- Manage erection companies to meet installation and commissioning requirements in line with the contract.
- Support the Leader Commissioning Engineer in coordinating testing and commissioning schedules to ensure contract compliance.
- Prepare and coordinate daily and monthly reports, ensuring all site documents (drawings, erection manuals, commissioning manuals) are kept up to date with the latest versions.
Competencies & Knowledge:
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Personality & Character Requirements:
- Open and effective communication.
- Availability for long-term service on-site.
- Full compliance with company regulations.
Professional & Experience Requirements:
- 20+ years of hydropower station field management experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Site Manager for large-scale hydropower projects (EPC preferred).
Mobilization: April 2025
Salary Package: $9,000 - $13,000 USD per month
