Rail - Bridge & Structure Design Specialist Latvia

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is supporting a leading Consultancy firm who are acting on behalf of the main contractor for a high speed passenger and freight line in Latvia and needing a Bridge and Structural Design Specialist.

Role & Responsibilities:

As a Bridge and Structure Design Specialist, you will be a key technical lead for the design and delivery of bridges and structural components along the high-speed corridor. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with international and local standards, and contribute to the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of this transformative rail link.

Lead or support the design of rail-related bridges, viaducts, culverts, and associated structuresCoordinate with civil, geotechnical, and rail systems teams to ensure integration of structural elementsReview and validate design documentation in accordance with EN Eurocodes and local regulationsProvide technical guidance to junior engineers and interface with the client and contractor teamsParticipate in value engineering, risk assessments, and constructability reviews

Requirements:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)Minimum 7 years of experience in bridge and structural design, ideally within major rail or infrastructure projectsProfessionally qualified Chartered Engineer through recognised institutionsSubstantial experience in design of infrastructure projects, including bridgesProficient in structural design software (e.g., MIDAS, SOFiSTiK, Robot, Tekla)Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and international design standardsExcellent communication skills; ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environmentPrevious experience on high-speed rail or large-scale transport projects is highly desirable

The salary on offer for this position is flexible depending on years of experience but it will be an international, key expert package
