EWI has partnered with an Environmental Planning group that is quickly expanding in the North California region to help them find a Senior Biologist/Project Manager for their Central Valley and Bay area projects. This position will be reporting to their Northeast Sacramento location but it's considered a work form home position to report to project areas when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

Managing projects from small to large in any complexityHave an expert understanding of local biological resources and regulationsEngage in sub-consultant management, QA/QC, scheduling, budgeting, and client engagementLead biological reporting, survey reporting, and HCP's. As well as restoration/mitigation plans and other related documents for CEQA/NEPA complianceLead preparation for regulatory permits like CWA Sec 404/401, ESA sec. 7, and CESA sec 2080.1/20801Manage agency negotiations and interfaceLead Proposals to grow your businessHire, mentor, and train associate-level staff

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Biology, Ecology, or related field10 plus years of experience in environmental consulting, leading projects involving biological resources and natural resources5 plus years of project management in biological and natural resourcesExperience in preparing biological assessment reports for CEQA/NEPA and mitigation plansWorked/managed multiple concurrent projects and large complex projects in natural resourcesStrong relationships with private clientele and public agencies in related jurisdictions

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in related fieldPermitting for wetlands and protected speciesTrack record of business development
