Development Manager - Solar PV - Kenya, East Africa

Company Overview: Our client is an international renewable energy developer dedicated to driving sustainable energy solutions across the globe. With a strong focus on East African countries, we are committed to expanding our solar PV projects in the region, contributing to the clean energy revolution.

Position Overview: As a Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to transform the energy landscape in East Africa. You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of solar PV projects, ensuring their successful implementation from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and assess solar PV project opportunities in East African countries.Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and partners.Lead project development activities, including site selection, permitting, and land acquisition.Conduct feasibility studies and financial analysis to evaluate project viability.Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure successful delivery.Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to oversee project execution.Monitor and report on project progress to senior management.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Renewable Energy, Engineering, Business).Proven experience in solar PV project development, with a focus on East African markets.Strong network of industry contacts and knowledge of local regulations.Excellent project management and communication skills.Financial acumen to assess project feasibility and financial models.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
