Team leader - Highway project (Philippines)


The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialist is supporting a leading Consultancy firm who are acting on behalf of the main contractor for a Highway project in the Philippines and need a Team leader.

Role & Responsibilities:

This highway project involves the design, planning, and execution of a key highway infrastructure in the Philippines. The project aims to improve transportation efficiency, reduce congestion, and enhance the overall connectivity of the region. As a Team Leader, you will play a critical role in leading the design team, ensuring high standards of engineering, compliance with local regulations, and timely project delivery.

Drive innovation and technical excellence in road design, incorporating best practices and modern engineering solutions.Ensure the use of appropriate design standards (e.g., DPWH, AASHTO, or other relevant international codes).Supervise and coordinate the activities of civil, geotechnical, pavement, and drainage design engineers.Assign design tasks, review technical outputs, and ensure quality assurance protocols are followed throughout the design process.Collaborate with project stakeholders including client representatives, regulatory agencies, and construction teams.Coordinate with survey, environmental, and traffic teams to integrate multidisciplinary inputs into the highway design.Conduct technical reviews of design drawings, models, specifications, and reports.Ensure timely delivery of design packages and design approvals in line with project milestones.Ensure designs comply with Philippine regulations, DPWH standards, and relevant environmental and safety legislation.Identify design-related risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

Master degree in civil engineering or a related fieldProfessional membership in an international Civil Engineering associationMinimum of 20 years of professional experienceMinimum of 15 years of experience in highways design, construction, and maintenance of roads and bridges projectsAt least 5 years of experience as project Team LeaderExperience with MDB(WB, ADB etc.) projects is beneficialHighway/road project experience in East South Asia is beneficial (Philippines experience is preferable)

Salary Package:

The salary on offer for this position is flexible depending on years of experience but it will be an international, key expert package
