Technical Asset Manager - Wind/Solar Energy

Hamburg (Remote)

Role Overview:

An experienced Technical Asset Manager is sought to oversee and optimise the technical performance of a renewable energy portfolio, specifically focusing on wind or solar assets. The individual will be responsible for ensuring assets operate at peak performance, minimising downtime, and maximising energy output. This role requires close collaboration with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) providers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to deliver technical excellence across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyse the technical performance of wind/solar assets using SCADA data and other tools.

O&M Oversight: Manage and supervise external O&M contractors to ensure turbines/solar systems are maintained and operating optimally.

Technical Reporting: Prepare and review technical performance reports, including yield analyses, availability, and efficiency metrics.

Optimisation: Identify technical improvement opportunities and implement measures to increase asset efficiency, minimise downtime, and maximise energy production.

Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to inspect turbines/solar systems, assess condition, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with Commercial Asset Managers to align technical performance with financial objectives, including budgeting and forecasting.

New Project Evaluation: Support technical due diligence for potential acquisitions or new projects by assessing the technical condition of assets.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and best practices for the operation and maintenance of wind/solar assets.

Qualifications:

Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field. Alternatively, a technical qualification with significant industry experience is acceptable.

Experience: Minimum of X years of experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably in asset management, O&M, or technical operations for wind or solar energy.

Technical Skills: Proficient in SCADA systems, data analysis, and asset management software. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) are essential.

Languages: Fluent in English/German/French with excellent communication skills.

Travel: Willingness to travel for site inspections and project evaluations.

Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, a high level of initiative, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
