Senior Rail Systems Expert - Rail Project (Canada)

EWI are searching for an expert in rail signaling and systems, ready to take on a pivotal role in exciting rail infrastructure projects across Canada. We're seeking a Senior Rail Systems Expert to join a leading global engineering and consulting firm renowned for delivering innovative, sustainable transportation solutions.

As a Senior Rail Systems Expert, you will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise in rail signaling and systems engineering. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, review, and implement cutting-edge rail control and safety systems, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design and technical review of signaling and train control systems for rail projects

Develop and oversee system integration plans, including interfaces with track, power, and communications systems

Ensure compliance with applicable rail industry standards and safety regulations

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver project objectives on time and within budget

Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and project teams

Participate in risk assessments, system testing, and commissioning activities

Requirements:

Extensive experience in rail signaling and systems engineering, ideally within North American rail projects

Deep understanding of signaling technologies (e.g., CBTC, ETCS, ATP, interlocking) and control systems

Proven track record in leading technical design reviews and system integration

Strong knowledge of rail safety standards, regulations, and best practices

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Engineering degree or equivalent, with relevant professional certifications considered an asset
