We are seeking a seasoned Powerhouse O&M Expert to support a high-impact institutional strengthening initiative in Pakistan's Dams and Hydropower sector. Project OverviewThis assignment will involve a comprehensive evaluation of existing powerhouse operations, focusing on technical, operational, and managerial dimensions. The resulting recommendations will inform targeted reform strategies aimed at optimizing performance, increasing resilience, and ensuring long-term sustainability of hydropower assets across the country.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct a detailed assessment of powerhouse operational procedures and O&M strategies.
Identify performance bottlenecks and propose practical solutions grounded in international best practices.
Advise on the integration of advanced technologies, automation systems, and digital monitoring tools to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Support the design and implementation of capacity-building programs tailored to local technical teams.
Work closely with public sector counterparts and regulatory institutions to ensure institutional alignment and policy coherence.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will possess:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (required).
A Master's in Engineering Management or a related field (required).
A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline will be considered a strong asset.
A minimum of 20 years of experience in powerhouse operations, maintenance, and management-preferably within large-scale hydropower infrastructure and within institutional or public sector contexts.
Demonstrated experience with international best practices in O&M, lifecycle asset management, and institutional reform in the power sector.
Location & CompensationLocation: Pakistan
Salary: Upto 15,000 USD per month (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)

Scope of Works
Site Country: Indonesia
Responsible for the geotechnical design of Upper and Lower Dams through the following tasks:
1) Review of general design and design criteria for geological and geotechnical assessment,
Conduct site inspection, survey and study,Review and update the detailed design and the construction drawing,Updating and supporting data for project dam safety plan,Prepare design reports and final reports,
2) Conduct construction supervision related to geologic and geotechnical works including core drilling and grouting works with respect to consolidation grouting, curtain grouting in terms of;
Supervision and instruction on excavation works of Upper and Lower Dams foundation, in-situ rock test, sampling and laboratory tests,Assessment of geological condition and prepare recommendation,Advice on excavation method, rock supporting system, grouting, geological investigation and slope stabilization,Supervision of preparation of geological mapping after excavation,Approve contractor's equipment for drilling and grouting,Coordinate, supervise and inspect construction activities of drilling and grouting,Approve contractor's construction method and quality assurance program standards,Review and approve test procedure for materials and equipment to be tested on site by the contractors and witness such tests,Review, check and approve the quantity surveys,Control progress of works and initiate corrective measures,Cooperate with Project Team Leader Construction in verifying and issuing orders to the contractor,Keep appropriate records on geology,Advise on settlement of claims,Prepare project completion report

Master's degree is preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in grid integration, power systems engineering, or related roles within the renewable energy sector.Profound knowledge of power system studies and tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, or similar software.Strong understanding of grid codes, regulations, and industry standards related to renewable energy integration.Experience with substation design, transmission planning, and power system protection schemes.Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and renewable energy development.
