Senior Signalling & Telecoms Design Lead - Rail (KSA-Based)

EWI are partnering with a leading European consultancy to recruit a Signalling & Telecoms Design Lead for a flagship rail infrastructure project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced S&T professional with deep expertise in high-speed rail (HSR), mainline, conventional, or freight railway projects. The Role:

You will be responsible for overseeing the signalling and telecommunications design across a major rail program, ensuring the contractor's work meets the highest technical, safety, and delivery standards. You will lead design teams, manage quality reviews, and serve as a key interface between the client, contractor, and cross-functional project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and review S&T design activities delivered by contractors.

Lead technical reviews and ensure compliance with international standards.

Oversee design team performance, delivery timelines, and quality control.

Support project planning, risk assessment, and impact analysis.

Interface with stakeholders, attend technical meetings, and ensure alignment with project goals.

Provide hands-on technical input as needed and sign off on design documentation.

Requirements:

Minimum 15 years of post-graduate experience in railway infrastructure.

At least 10 years working on HSR, mainline, conventional, or freight rail projects (metro and LRT experience will not be considered).

Strong track record in managing complex signalling and telecoms design packages.

In-depth knowledge of signalling standards and railway systems integration.

Preferably currently based in KSA or GCC.

Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
