A major hydropower project in Uganda is entering the final stages of its implementation. The facility has an installed capacity of 150+ MW and plays a critical role in meeting the country's growing energy needs.
Our client is seeking an experienced Resident Project Manager to lead the on-site supervision team, coordinate technical and managerial efforts, and ensure the successful completion of remaining works including defect resolution and spillway rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the on-site supervision teamLiaise with the home office and senior project managementInterface with the client's project management and operations teamsSupervise and inspect contractor works across disciplinesReview and approve method statements and key technical documentationOversee quality control and verify executed quantitiesMonitor construction progress and ensure adherence to scheduleCoordinate supervision interventions during planned outagesOrganize and attend project meetings; draft and distribute meeting minutesImplement project quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) proceduresReport any client or third-party instructions through the appropriate channelsCandidate Profile:
Minimum 15 years of experience in hydropower or large infrastructure projectsStrong technical expertise in civil or hydro-mechanical worksProven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectivelyExcellent communication and stakeholder coordination skillsHigh commitment to safety, quality, and project outcomesExperience working in Africa and/or with international contractors (including Chinese contractors) is an advantageEvaluation Criteria:

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to support a major infrastructure project in Tajikistan. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across all construction activities on site.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to risk management, and a background in large-scale infrastructure - particularly within the hydropower sector.
Key Responsibilities
Site Team Occupational Health & Safety
Promote a robust safety culture within the internal site team
Lead safety talks, on-site inspections, and internal training initiatives
Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate prevention measures
Manage and train HSE staff on-site
Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for internal OHS performance
Provide support to the Chief Resident Engineer on staff health and safety matters
Contractor HSE Supervision
Oversee and coordinate the HSE supervision of all contractor activities
Ensure compliance with local regulations and project-specific HSE requirements
Review and validate HSE documentation, reports, and contractor submissions
Conduct regular audits and inspections of works and safety practices
Investigate incidents and support the implementation of corrective actions
Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement strategies
Monitor and report on HSE performance indicators across the project
Candidate Requirements
Master's degree in Engineering, HSE, or related discipline
Additional professional qualifications in HSE Management Systems are an asset
Minimum 20 years' experience in HSE roles within construction or industrial assembly projects
At least 5 years of experience on hydropower or large-scale infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001 standards
Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential
Proven leadership capabilities and team management experience
Strong communication, reporting, and coordination skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
