Field Service Engineer - T&D (Contract)

Job Overview:
We are working with an international OEM to recruit a Field Service Engineer for a contract opportunity within the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector of the wind industry. The successful candidate will support onshore and offshore wind farm projects across the UK and Europe, providing hands-on technical expertise for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of T&D systems, ensuring reliable integration and operation of wind farm infrastructure within the electrical grid.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide on-site technical support for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of T&D systems in onshore and offshore wind farm projects.Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical equipment such as transformers, substations, high-voltage cables, and grid connections.Conduct inspections, testing, and diagnostics of T&D systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimal performance.Identify and resolve system faults or performance issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring that all electrical systems are operating efficiently.Collaborate with project teams, OEMs, and contractors to ensure T&D systems are installed and maintained correctly according to specifications and safety standards.Provide technical reports and feedback to engineering teams, identifying potential improvements to enhance the performance of T&D systems.Work independently on service calls and escalate technical issues to senior engineers as needed.Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company procedures.Provide training and technical guidance to operations and maintenance teams on the proper care and operation of T&D systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer with T&D systems, preferably within the wind industry.Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and T&D infrastructure, including transformers, substations, and grid connections.Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems.Familiarity with both onshore and offshore wind farm environments.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe.Offshore certification (e.g., BOSIET, CA-EBS) for offshore roles.Valid right to work in the UK and/or Europe.
